Description
This classic ferrocerium rod is an uncompromising fire-starting tool, set into a solid, high-quality brass handle that retains its natural, radiant golden appearance.
For a secure grip in all conditions, the handle features a precisely knurled surface. We craft these in two versions – with fine and coarse knurling. The specific piece you receive is chosen at random, adding to the uniqueness of your gear. Thanks to the sturdy O-ring (brass-coated steel wire), you can hang the firesteel on your keys, wear it around your neck, or attach it directly to your jacket or backpack zipper, keeping it constantly at hand as a stylish EDC accessory.
Even if you pull the firesteel straight out of the water, it works 100%. When struck, it throws sparks with a massive temperature of up to 3500°C, instantly igniting birch bark, wood shavings, paper, jute, or cotton. To strike a spark, any sharp edge will do – the spine of a knife blade, a piece of sheet metal, an old saw blade, a utility knife blade, or even a coin.
