EDUCATIONAL HARDWARE & PROTOTYPING DISCLAIMER
PLEASE READ THIS DISCLAIMER CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING OR WORKING WITH ANY HARDWARE, CIRCUITS, FIRMWARE, OR DOCUMENTATION PROVIDED BY ELITMAN (“ELITMAN LABS”, “WE”, “US”, OR “OUR”).
1. NATURE OF HARDWARE: COMPONENT BUNDLES & INTERFACE BOARDS
All Development Boards, Interface Boards, component bundles, developer components, and mechanical hardware provided through this website are exclusively intended, classified, and provided as raw material for your own research and development.
- This hardware does NOT constitute finished consumer electronic devices, complete sets, or consumer kits.
- Everything is designed solely for an educational purpose, experimental prototyping, and custom workshop research and development by the Maker community.
- The hardware requires engineering, soldering, proper mechanical mounting, and verification by individuals constructing their own prototype.
2. REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & CE / FCC CLASSIFICATION
Because our hardware consists of passive Interface Boards (deliberately lacking a main controlling microcontroller) and loose developer components meant for laboratory evaluation and integration into custom concepts:
- They do not fall under consumer directives for finished appliances (e.g., standard consumer CE, FCC, or RED certification).
- You, as the creator, assume full legal and technical responsibility for ensuring that your final custom prototype or machinery constructed using this raw material complies with all applicable local electrical, mechanical, and safety regulations.
3. WORKSHOP, MACHINERY & HIGH-RISK OPERATIONS WARNING
Certain documentation, electrical schematics, and component bundles provided by Elitman Labs (including, but not limited to, the ELS project, motor controllers, power supplies, and high-current circuits) involve integration with industrial machine tools such as bench lathes, milling machines, and external power circuits.
- Inherent Machinery Risks: The operation of lathes, power screws, and rotating machine components carries severe risks of physical injury, entangling, mechanical collision, eye damage, or death.
- User Safety Implementation: You are solely responsible for engineering and verifying all safety guards, emergency stop switches (E-Stops), physical limit interlocks, and adequate fuses before applying power to your prototype.
- Firmware Validation: You are responsible for inspecting, testing, and confirming the operation of any open-source firmware, code, or calibration variables in a safe, non-cutting state before operating machinery.
4. “AS-IS” PROVISION & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
All hardware designs, Interface Boards, electrical schematics, firmware source code, documentation, and 3D printing STL files are provided strictly “As-Is” and “As-Available”, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
IN NO EVENT SHALL ELITMAN, ITS FOUNDERS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; LOSS OF USE, REVENUE, OR DATA; MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT DAMAGE, LATHE BED COLLISION, ELECTRICAL SHORTS, OR PERSONAL INJURY) HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR TORT ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF THE USE OF THIS HARDWARE, SCHEMATICS, OR DOCUMENTATION.
5. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF SKILL
By purchasing our component bundles, Development Boards, or deploying our theoretical concepts, you explicitly confirm that:
- You possess the requisite technical experience to safely handle electrical wiring, soldering, and workshop tools for your research and development.
- You have read, understood, and unconditionally agreed to all points in this disclaimer.
