Description

This handcrafted firesteel (also known as a ferro rod) is a dependable tool for every bushcrafter, survivalist, and outdoor enthusiast who demands absolute reliability when starting a fire.

At the heart of the design is an original handle made from a brass casing. Its surface has undergone an etching process, creating an abstract motif with a strong medieval and steampunk aesthetic. The etching reveals the natural reddish hue of the copper within the brass, which, combined with the golden base, creates a beautiful, unrepeatable composition.

Because the etching process creates random patterns, no two pieces are exactly alike. You will receive a randomly selected motif, meaning the firesteel you get will be a 1/1 original. The tool is finished with a precision-turned shank that houses a freely rotating, brass-coated steel O-ring. This turns a fully functional wilderness tool into a stylish EDC accessory for everyday carry.

The ferrocerium rod (cerium mischmetal) produces extreme sparks reaching up to 3500°C when struck. This allows you to quickly and easily ignite a wide range of tinder (paper, wood shavings, birch bark, or jute), even if the firesteel is completely drenched. To strike a spark, you can use the spine of a knife, a piece of sheet metal, a hacksaw blade, or even a sharpened coin.
